This piece steps through every single character of all the written languages that have been made accessible to computers through a system called Unicode. The title for this piece comes from Franz Kafka's retelling of the Tower of Babel story entitled The City Coat of Arms. This version was installed in an art center that used to be a Carnegie Library. It was projected onto a screen mounted into the round skylight window that forms the axis of the architecture.
